Development Workshops: Community Mapping and Memories

We’ve had two lively and productive sessions with the InCommon inter-generational group at Sonali Gardens, working with children from St Mary & St Michael RC Primary School and older people from LinkAge Plus. Based around a theme of 'Connections', the participants shared and discussed locations, artefacts and memories that were meaningful to them, and then drew some of them to add to our giant Community Map. Some of the treasures brought in included soft toys, a candlestick, a porridge spurtle, a market trader's trolley, and a beautiful ceramic bowl. The final artwork will be displayed as part of a pop-up exhibition: details to follow. Thanks to Amber, Sam and Julie for enabling these sessions.
